A professional home for members of the Chicago psychoanalytic community
Initially trained as an anthropologist and historian, I am a faculty member at the Center for Religion and Psychotherapy Chicago, a clinical pre-candidate at Lacan School (San Francisco), a member of the Chicago Psychoanalytic Circle of the Freudian School of Québec, and a therapist at Depth Counseling. I am open to working with patients by phone, video, or in-person.
I offer patients a space for free speech—to say what comes to mind, without holding anything back. Sometimes this is not easy to do, but, with time, it can also be enjoyable, exciting, and transformative, because it can help us to get in touch with desires that we did not know we had.
While I work with adults, adolescents, and couples dealing with a wide variety of issues, I have a particular interest in working with people who are dealing with questions about their relationships to society, culture, sexuality, and religion.
For many patients, I find it most productive to work together 2-3 times per week, after having a few weekly consultations to see if we are a good fit.
